i obviously knew who CCR were around this time, but this was my first Fogerty purchase back in the day...
not much to say other than, im a huge Fogerty fan,this is Fogerty, and that says it all IMO!

DEPECHE MODE "somebody"-ep "somebody", "blasphemous rumours" b/w "told you so", "everything counts" 1984
typical DM electronica sounds here...it nust have been "blasphemous rumours" that got me to by buy this as i have never liked "somebody"...
the other two tracks on the "b" side are live versions of older hits..
single made it to #87 here, but i bought this one on a trip to the UK where it reached the top10...

KID CREOLE & THE COCONUTS "annie,im not your daddy" b/w "you had no intention" 1982
pretty much a one hit wonder group...
song has a distinct tropical,creole,cajun type feel to it, mixed with 1980s pop, its not bad, probably a bit better back in the day as it was new and fresh sounding...
"b" side, like a lot of "b" sides is a piece of crap...
track made it to #89 on our charts, and thats about where it should have got...

JOE COCKER "civilised man" b/w "long drag off a cigarette" 1984
im a huge fan of Joe Cocker yet only own a few singles...shame on me!
not that this is a great single, but its pretty good for a guy who is almost 30yrs into a career...
this isnt a bad single, both "a" and "b" side tracks are equally good, was surprised to find this one only charted at a peak of #51 here, was sure this was a bigger hit in the charts than that!

JOE COCKER "dont you love me anymore" b/w "tempted" 1986
two Cocker's in a row....
i dont love this song but i do like it a bit more than the previous single, again, the "b" side is still pretty good...Joe is a quality artist IMO, very little rubbish from what ive heard of him throughout his career...
single got to a respectably good #11 out here back in the day...

COLD CHISEL "choir girl" b/w "conversations" 1979
Australia's premier blues rock outfit from the late seventies,early eighties...
this "a" side is probably their finest single IMO..."b" side is a piece of crap which is exactly what these guys were, ie:brilliant or rubbish!

i used to like 'conversations' a lot, but its worn a bit thin on me over the years, but each to their own mate, the Chisels were as great band and still perform every couple of years when the members arent doing their solo projects

UB-40 "dont break my heart" b/w "mek ya rock" 1985
i used to love these guys, have numerous singles(of which ive already posts a few here)...
i dunno, their sound just seems so 'old hat' now, its bearable but if this stuff was released now i probably wouldnt buy it...
"a" side is still okay i guess, but the "b" side,well, i never liked it and still dont...
again, looking at chart placings i couldnt remember this one getting as high as it did in the charts, thought it didnt sell at all, but it did get to #37..

HUMAN LEAGUE "the lebanon" b/w "thirteen" 1984
think i got this one upon release without even hearing it and purely on the strength of their brilliant Dare album...
dont like either side of this single but it still reached #23 on the charts back in the day
