The last thing I bought - a 4 cd collection of Tolkien Ensmble songs - was a real treasure for me. =)

Waaah, I've been dying to get that album for such a long time *_*
But I only approve an LP... don't know what I'm really waiting for! We have many many good antiquarian book/record shops here

Really sad (I suppose) and bought the Push It compilation album last Saturday as it has Rob Base & DJ Ez Rock's It Takes Two and also Baby D's Let Me Be Your Fantasy. Also got Massive Attack's new album Heligoland at the same time - I think that will take a few major listens however.

DJ Icey - Essential Elements-DJ Icey Presents

This is supposed to be the Icey one's best. It's pretty damn good for a dance set. Big Beat oriented. I sure wish this guy would have played a mean n krunchy guitar, but I guess that's what KMFDM & Joey Kingpin is for eh?

Master Musicians of Bukkake - Totem One

This group is getting a good deal of attention so I figured I would check them out. It's...OK...I am not a big fan of the whole "chill" thing and that is what this primarily is as infused with a somewhat psychedelic world beat. Just further proof that the outsider in me doesn't "get" 95% of what is presently popular. A little too on the flat side for me.

Scum of The Earth - Blah... Blah... Blah... Love Songs
Scum of The Earth - Sleaze Freak

This is White Zombie/Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs' solo project. It's basically a continuation from where White Zombie left off. Perhaps just a little more brutal and devious. (is that possible?) Something get's old and goes flat here however. Don't get me wrong, it's not too disappointing, it just gets monotonous because the song writing is weaker than old school Zombie IMO. I'd give 'em each a 6.75 out of a possible 10. The problem with White Zombie is that post La Sexorcisto their sense of groove has been extremely hit or miss. Gimme that ol' time Black Sunshine anytime. The sad thing is that we "see" it peak from behind the doomy chunka chunka nu metal clouds from time to time as is the case with Super Charger Heaven on Astro Creep 2000, but it's all too rare. Me thinks that Rob is a genius with a few too many irons in a few too many fires, but whatever floats his artistic Horrific boat.

Lab Animals - Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars

OMG, why do I do the things I do? Went into a local used CD shop right next door to one of my favorite Thai food restaurants (a dangerous combo for me!) and... well, don't ask me cause I don't know why I compulsively bought this. Maybe I am over whelmed at times in thinking that I'm psychic or something. Whatever the case is, I'm wrong more times than not. Somehow I seem to understand the guy that penned the lyrics: "I'm a looser baby, why don't ya kill me"

This is a decent but nothing special whatsoever arpeggiator driven cyber punk dance set with somekind of an alternative synth pop disguise thrown at it for whatever reason. Hindsight is 20/20 as in go to Amazon you moron (self directed) and see the fact that you can get a used copy for a penny. Luckily I didn't pay much more for then a penny plus shipping.

John 5 - Vertigo

Amazing stuff albeit just more guitar god wanker stuff. John 5's country fried ragtime nu metal leanings do make this somewhat interesting however.

Black Number Nine - s/t

Now this is interesting! Just good old "plain as 1972 fm rock" power pop meets the Rolling Stones. A decent Indie find here and one that needs to be cranked to be appreciated. very cool and recommended.
