Born on this day ... - Ruby - 19-03-2015 Terence Edward âTerryâ Hall was born on this day in 1959, in Coventry, England. Associated with a number of different bands but probably best known as the lead singer of The Specials, then Fun Boy Three. The Specials had a big hit in 1981 in the UK with Ghost Town which spent three weeks at #1 and ten weeks in total in the Top 40 â Born on this day ... - Music Head - 19-03-2015 Ruth Pointer - born on this day in 1946 in Oakland, CA that makes her 69 of the Pointer Sisters a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame 3 Grammys 13 top 20 hits very versatile act others charted higher but this is my fav Born on this day ... - jazzboCR - 20-03-2015 Quite the interesting gent is Terry Hall--fad-wave rider par excellence, first with the UK's Reggae boom, then "new wave" and then whatever Black idiom is current. His Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Hall_(singer) Some tunes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02S9i0Kal2Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqtfl0gt5fM << reformed Specials in '09 with a guest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9s4bYhcY78 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqQT3oKA3v8 BONUS: Full concert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9GnGMQz22A Born on this day ... - CRAZY-HORSE - 20-03-2015 The Specials never missed the too10 on the UK singles charts until Hall and Staples left to form Fun Boy3... The reformed Specials performed at a festival here a couple of years ago...they were very good Their debut album is still one of my favourites from that late 70s,early 80s UK ska revival era Born on this day ... - Ruby - 20-03-2015 Carl Palmer turns 65 today. Drummer extraordinaire! He joined Vincent Crane in The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and moved on briefly to Atomic Rooster before signing up with ELP where he really made his mark, IMO. He continued to do side/solo work whilst with ELP, and when they split up, he joined Asia. I have a pro drummer friend who cites him as his single biggest influence and inspiration. Hereâs a clip with him bringing every possible bell and whistle to the party ⦠https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQssthhy0vk, and then, just in case anyone thought he actually needed all that stuff, thereâs this solo on a snare. Jaw dropping! Born on this day ... - Music Head - 20-03-2015 Chester Bennington - born on this day in 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona that makes him 39 vocalist for Linkin Park says he is also the lead vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots sure didn't know that this was LP's biggest hit Born on this day ... - Ruby - 21-03-2015 Roger Hodgson was born on this day in 1950. He successfully auditioned for Supertramp in 1969 and along with Rick Davies et al proceeded to write/co-author and perform many stellar pieces. Supertramp might be my favourite band ever â they were quite simply, brilliant. Itâs funny to think that he left them in 1983!! Heâs still touring and recording some very nice solo work. I can only find his solo stuff on YT which is fine â but I really think they were better together, so from Crisis? What Crisis? hereâs an audio of one of my favourite Supertramp tracks (at least, one that was written by Hodgson) - http://grooveshark.com/s/A+Soapbox+Opera/IJxO6?src=5 ⦠and another from his solo album In the Eye of the Storm - Born on this day ... - Jerome - 21-03-2015 'Paris' has to be one of the best live albums of all time. Born on this day ... - Music Head - 21-03-2015 I wish I liked live albums Born on this day ... - Jerome - 21-03-2015 My favourite live albums Kansas - Two for the Show Genesis - Seconds Out Jethro Tull - Bursting Out Supertramp - Paris Rick Wakeman - Live at Hammersmith and wait for it...............
