RE: What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 10-12-2020
Found this on my digital travels - a French label that used to deal exclusively with ambient music but have now branched out into other areas. Busy listening to this album at the moment - https://youtu.be/yQjove0nzss

PETE BARDENS - Water Colors (so hard not to put that u in!!)

Electronic/new age I'd say - some say ambient. I like what I know of his solo stuff although he doesn't seem to get a lot of love in many quarters. This and Seen One Earth are happy listening for me. Largely instrumental with a few vocal tracks. Today it's "Ghostwater" ...
He was good at watery things - I'm reminded of how much I love this track of his from Moonmadness ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvxG6gOVBTQ

Just read their Wiki bio. Badfinger sure had their fair share of bad luck over the years.

KITARŌ - Thinking of You
![[Image: 220px-Kitaro_Thinking_Of_You.jpg]](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/0f/Kitaro_Thinking_Of_You.jpg/220px-Kitaro_Thinking_Of_You.jpg)
This is really new age - I think it fits better here than in any other category. The album won a Grammy and it's easy to tell why. Yes, it's beautiful, harmonious music that is easy on the soul as well as the ear, but it's not inane or accidental - there's design behind what he does that makes it so much more than it might appear on the surface and anyway, I don't mind wallowing in pretty music from time to time!

One of my favourite ambient albums - https://youtu.be/Py63toyEiVU

Jon and Vangelis - Private Collection
![[Image: PrivateCollection.jpg]](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/68/PrivateCollection.jpg)
There are two very beautiful tracks on this album. Nothing wrong with the others, "He is Sailing" is great as well, but these two are particularly gorgeous ...
"Deborah" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ryxm85hYfWs
... and "Horizon" which is nearly 23 minutes in duration - epic ...
RE: What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 25-02-2021
I don't care much for the first half of 'Horizon'. Second half is superb. Very evocative.
And Deborah is much better in stereo - https://youtu.be/Id1dxBUqLNU - makes a big difference if you are listening on headphones!
