this one was 'overkilled' on the radio when it came it and went totally off it...
SteveO championed it here on the forum and MH bought it and liked it a while ago also...

Bro C-H: I'm not questioning the opinion but I am curious in how it was formed. Was Mr. Jennings a tougher boss, veering wildly in his treatment of them, depending on his drug ingestion and Mr. Holly more open to them, or did they think Mr. Holly would've had a brighter future, bring them with him? Buggin' me a bit...

What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 31-07-2014

it was a joke aimed at the fact Waylon lost the coin toss to Holly on that fateful february day.....nothing more, nothing less jazzy.

What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 10-08-2014

David Gray's Mutineers. I have his White Ladder and Life in Slow Motion and after listening to the clip Music Head posted of him on Letterman, and a couple more tracks, I decided to buy this album.

At the same time, I bought David Bowie's The Next Day which seems to have made its way into the bargain bins! I have yet to listen to it in full.

And then, I couldn't resist picking up a copy of Paul Reese's book - Robert Plant, A Life.

I really enjoy Gray's "White Ladder" and "Foundling." Never really looked much further into his stuff. But he's got a really mellow sound and some beautiful lyrics. How is this album?

Hi LMD, I’m pleased with this purchase.

This is a thinking man, which I like very much, and I’m catching some of the hooks running uninvited through my mind – a good sign! There are one or two tracks I don’t get, but on the whole, it stands up.

Yes, great lyrics – appealing, honest and intelligent and I’m noticing the instrumentation more on this one. The cello, in particular, is lovely, and there are other interesting sounds as well. IMO, David Gray is all grown up - artistically, I mean!

Two favourites so far (couldn’t find anything on YouTube with decent sound):
