What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 28-07-2014

just a word of warning to all the members who play my alphabetical cd guessing game...
theres no point trying to remember the albums/artists listed here that i have just purchased as they will not be included in the competition
as it would be unfair to review and score these on a first time play basis...!!!!

ABBA's "super trouper"
previously lost in the midsts of time and moving house....
not a big ABBA fan but i really like this more "mature" sounding album

NEIL DIAMOND "hot august night"
one of the greatest rock live albums ever, again, another that seems to have dissapeared from my collection over time!

LED ZEPPELIN "four symbals" aka "IV"

after "physical graffiti", this is my favourite Zep album...another one which has vanished from my collection!

and finally,
one ive never owned but playing here "tuesday night music club" album a week or so ago renewed my interest in her...

Nice ones mate! Yes the Diamond live is brilliant !!!

What Did You Buy? - Ruby - 29-07-2014

Oooo – some nice selections! Love the Diamond too – and ABBA – no denying the brilliant song writing!

I see you were asking about Mike Oldfield. I’m not an aficionado, although I do have a few of his albums, but I have listened to his three more vocal albums and IMO you might want to try ‘Discovery’ – lots of Maggie Reilly on that and only one instrumental – I like it a lot – you’ll probably recognise the opening track, ‘To France’.

QE2 is worth a listen as is Voyager plus Light and Dark of course one has to recommend the first three but they are fully instrumental, but try Tubular Bells( Try to find the new reissue withe theme from tubular bells which he put out as a single it is truly excellent!), Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn ..........and Incantations Confusedmile:Cool

What Did You Buy? - CRAZY-HORSE - 29-07-2014

i do have that Tubular Bells reissue you have mentioned.

so if im reading you correct(and correct me if im wrong)...QE2/Votager and Light And Dark are vocal albums?
