Thanks also for your reviews CRAZY-HORSE. I'm finding them so useful!

What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 28-06-2014

not a problem Ruby...
i find when i have to write something, anything, about an album i have to listen to it more intently to try to grasp what im listneing to.
its interesting finding all the chart placings for albums and the singles just to see how good or bad an album actually sold, and where it sold well...
also, i always look on wikipedia to read about the artist while im doing it to maybe get a feel for the artist...
the whole thing adds up to a better appreciation of a collection of songs ata certain point of time in most cases....

sorry, im suffering from verbal gastroenteritis rightnow arent i...???? lol

The only McGraw album I own. Not too bad for modern country. He does have a dose or so of the real stuff on here. Lyrics probably impressed me
more than the music. Down home stuff people can relate to. Ten albums deep in his ride and he's still hitting the top. To be honest, before I
listened to this I could not name 1 Tim McGraw song. Now I can name 12 if I look at that track listing. Not knocking the mans accomplishments
after that list of awards. Modern country is just not something I'm in touch with. Interesting note on the best song title here, It's A Business
Doing Pleasure With You, co-written by Chad Kroeger of Nickelback. Don't know but I'm guessing Tim's early material was a little more country
than this. He just got siphoned into the pool like they all do.

GLEN CAMPBELL "collection" cd, 2005

career stats:
studio albums........54
singles..................110+

Glen has been active since 1962...
he performed for the last time in 2012 at the Grammy Awards after it was announced he was suffering from alzheimer's disease...
i was never a big fan of Campbell but liked enough material to warrant getting a compilation...
shame really, because this double disc,thirty-three track set doesnt contain "witchita linesman"...WTF????,thats like a Beatle compilation not containing "yesterday" or "hey jude"!
anyway, not much to say about this one other than that track is not on it...
not a bad album, like i said, im not really a huge fan of his music...
some nice covers on here...some aweful ones also like Beach Boys "god only knows","bridge over troubled waters" and Hollies "he aint heavy,he's my brother"...some songs should simply not be covered, especially by country singers!
elsewhere on here, theres a couple of instrumentals like "kingof the road" and "mr.tamborineman"...another WTF moment IMO.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM
