What Are You Listening To? - Lovely Linda - 27-06-2014 I can't find the pic on here of me and Kenny but I have it saved to my computer. Just don't know how to get it here. The forum I was on has been shut down and they have gone to facebook. Seems everyone is going to facebook. What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-06-2014 ![]() HARRY CHAPIN "short stories" cd, 1974 career stats: studio albums......10 singles................12 this album: #61 US, #46 AU singles: "w.o.l.d"............#36 US, #21 AU, #34 UK "mr.tanner".......no charted entry. Harry's third studio album.... follows the same template as his others in that they are storyteller songs...some very good, some woeful IMO i prefer him best when he doesnt try to sing, but rather like his almost spoken word stories, and this album is no different. unlike the first two i posted here, this one is liked as an album by me... personally, i would advise people to get one of those "essential" collective compilation sets as some of his work really isnt up to par... i was surprised to find that duringhis life he was way more popular here in Australia than his homeland, also, was surprised to note that his only UK chart entry was the "w.o.l.d" single which is from this album... I LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: theres a lot of lonely people best track: w.o.l.d tracks: 1. short stories * 2. w.o.l.d *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1TUgWGuKM8 live 3. song for myself ** 4. song man ** 5. changes ** 6. they call her easy ** 7. mr.tanner *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upZB5VlbC6o live 8. mail order annie * 9. theres a lot of lonely people * 10.old college avenue * 3s=2 2s=4 1s=4 rating: 1.8 What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 27-06-2014 I have Heads & Tales album with his classic Taxi on it!...great songs with a story!!!!! What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 27-06-2014 SteveO Wrote:I have Heads & Tales album with his classic Taxi on it!...great songs with a story!!!!! that one is coming out over the next couple of days mate..cant wait to hear "taxi" again, havent heard it in a long while, his "verities and balderdash" album also...love "cats in the cradle" from that one also, again, cant wait to hear that track again also! Harry Chapin...great observer of life and the mundane IMO, which he put down on paper in a thought provoking way sometimes, shame he died so young, he probably had a few more classics to write. What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 27-06-2014 ^^ Mr. Tanner can do it to me What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 27-06-2014 True story!!!! We even mentioned all his hits and we both couldn't remember his signature song...Only Make Believe...I thought of it about two hours later...lol...my wife says I look better than Conway and I never ever thought I looked like him!!! I always thought I looked like Elvis Presley....lol...what do you think ?
What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 27-06-2014 ^^ not bad for 61 What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 27-06-2014 Like my decals? "taxi" is my favourite on here, but several others are nudging it for best track every time i hear this one... all up, a very good album from Mr.Chapin I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: empty best track: taxi tracks: 1. could you put your light on please *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJPSjs7a6Qc audio 2. greyhound ** 3. everybody's lonely ** 4. sometime, somewhere wife ** 5. empty * 6. taxi *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5dwksSbD34 live 7. any old kind of day *** 8. dogtown ** 9. same old singer *** 3s=4 2s=4 1s=1 rating: 2.4 |
