I don't care for these posthumous releases but it is Hendrix, so I had to give it a listen. You just never know if the artist would have considered them worthy of release. Just that whole cashing in thing. Most of these were recorded in 1969. All have been heard before, though some were bootlegs. A few good tracks and a few not so. The lower ratings on some tracks are simply because I've heard the original versions and prefer them. Had they been new tracks, I'm sure I would have felt different. Still damn good stuff for the uninitiated.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Fire

Best Track - Bleeding Heart

People, people
Here me go
You know what it means to be left alone
Yeah, people hear me people
Do you know what it means to be left alone?
Not even a love to call your own
A little understandin'
Lord that's all in the world I need
Understandin' and a little bit of lovin' baby
That's all in the world I need
A misunderstanding of a no good woman
Yeah, lord they've both caused my heart to bleed
Yeah

Every mornin'
I can hear out of my window
The blues come winning
I can hear the blues call my name baby
Every mornin'
Every mornin'
You can hear the willows weep and mown for me
Lord now, every mornin' you can hear the willows weep and mown for me
My little girl has left me
That's what caused my heart to bleed
That's all that caused my heart to bleed
Bleeding heart
Lord that's too bad I have a bleeding heart
Please come back home to me baby

Album #7 from the moptops. Reaching #1 obviously. Interesting that the last tour was after this release, yet none of these tracks were performed live, according to the band, due to the complexity of the arrangements. Some don't seem that complex to me, but whatever. It's not like the fans would have noticed. Didn't care much for the insertion of the Indian influences, but other than that, a superb effort as always.

[b]I LOVE THIS ALBUM/b]

Worst Track - Love You To

Best Track - Here, There and Everywhere

To lead a better life I need my love to be here...

Here, making each day of the year
Changing my life with a wave of her hand
Nobody can deny that there's something there

There, running my hands through her hair
Both of us thinking how good it can be
Someone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there

I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care
But to love her is to need her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share

Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there

I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care
But to love her is to need her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share

Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there

To be there and everywhere
Here, there and everywhere

This has to be their worst album, including the stupid reversed cover art. The eighth, and the debut for Geffen Records, which must have given them second thoughts about the signing. Another big comeback which failed to live up to the hype. I guess it was called that as Joe Perry returned to the lineup, after sitting out the previous. The comeback would actually start with the next album. This would reach a dismal #36 on the U.S. charts, with the single of Let The Music Do The Talking reaching #18.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Shame On You

Best Track - My Fist Your Face

Wake up baby, what you in for
Start the day upon your knees
What you pissin' in the wind for
You musta snorted too much bleas
East house pinball wizard
Full tilt bozo plague
Second floor trekkie
Makin' warp speed out the door
Julio Afrokeluchie
He the only one who stayed
Countin' up the days

Please no more
My Fist Your Face
That's for sure

Hey Betty Boop you got me droolin'
I'm buzzing 'round your hive tonight
You play the hooky stead of schoolin'
Son of a bitch put out the light
Thirteen year old hookers
Take a sack right trough the bars
You wonder why the man's outside the door
Junior achivers, got the old bull by the horns

Back in the saddle gets you sore
My Fist Your Face
That's for sure
East house pinball wizard
Full tilt bozo plague
Second floor trekkie
Makin' warp speed out the door
Julio Afrokeluchie
He the only one who stayed
Countin' up the days

Please no more
My Fist Your Face
That's for sure

I-Pod, garden this PM.

Double album consisting of two distinct records. Both contain classy Pop/Rock songs, but the Anything disc rocks a little harder. Much of this is like Donald Fagen singing Billy Joel songs...

First rate.

Lengthy live album witha sort-of Prog minor supergroup (See cover above).

Predominantly Genesis/Hackett music, but also features some King Crimson, and some Asia.

Really enjoyed this.

Third album from arguably one of the most successful new wave bands of the 80's, considering their brief 6 album career. Commercial, yes, but they helped pave the way for the sound. Although there were no hit singles off of this album it did reach #5 on the U.S. charts and they were yet to reach their peak popularity.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Getting Through

Best Track - Don't Tell Me No

It's my party, you can come
It's my party, have some fun
It's my dream, have a laugh
It's my life, have a half

CHORUS
Don't tell me no

It's my transition, it's my play
It's my phone call to betray
It's my hopscotch, light the torch
It's my downtime, feel the scorch

CHORUS
It's my ambition, it's my joke
It's my teardrop, emotional smoke
It's my mercy, it's my plan
I want to go to futureland

A rare studio album from the Dead for me...

This is Jazzish, West-Coast, slightly Psychedelic Jamming of the first order. And it has a great bit of cover art to boot...

Does liking this leave me vulnerable to a fatwah ??

&

Elton John - Tumbleweed Connection

Formative album from Mrs Furnish.

Has a loose Wild West theme, but don't let that put you off...

EJ & BT are strating to hit their stride as a songwriting partnership.

Lovely on an early Summer afternoon.

&

George Harrison - Live in Japan

George Beatle'sreturn to the live arena following a near-total drought of 18 years, from '92.

Backed by Eric Clapton & his touring band, with EC firmly in supporting mode. You almost wouldn't know he's on the album.

Mostly GH solo stuff, with a smattering of his Beatles compositions, and a couple of covers. Superbly played, & lapped up by an enthusiastic Japanese audience
