To be honest, I've slowed down a bit with how many albums I'm spinning at a short amount of time. Some albums take longer to click with me too. My new albums this week:
Ulver - Perdition City
This is... different. When I listen to this album, I keep expecting Frank Sinatra to start playing somewhere in the background like I'm in a dark noir film, where's my cigar and whiskey?
It is dark, electronic based and it's not everyone's cup of tea. Perdition City produces clear images in my head and I like the vocalist (his voice fits the music well) and I like the atmosphere. I'm still letting this album sink in. Lost in Moments is my favorite track on the album, I've played that song a few times and that saxophone is cool.
I would not recommend this album if you don't care/like electronica nor if dark atmospheric music isn't your thing.
Lindsey Stirling - Brave Enough
Eh, I like what I've heard of it so far. Something Wild is my favorite track.
I use to scoff at electronica, but not as much lately.

Did I or didn't I? That is the question. :biggrin1:
Nah, if you don't like a genre then that's your prerogative. Just like I can't make myself like tomatoes and I won't force myself to eat them just to change my mind about them, eww no.

So I have a new album this week and from an up and coming band who I found on bandcamp. This band shares similarities to Alcest which is becoming a genre in itself called Neigecore haha I'm joking (well not really).
Sylvaine - Wistful
While Sylvaine is influenced by them that doesn't mean they don't have anything unique about them. This album is ambient, has elements of metal, a mix of sounds, fronted by multi-instrumentalist Sylvaine who uses her voice like it's another instrument, there are harsh/guttural vocals by another vocalist in a few songs. For the most part, the album is pretty relaxing and when I listen to it, I feel a chill with a hint of melancholy wave over me. Honestly, it's pretty good, IMO.
If you also like Alcest like I do, you may like her band too. I don't know.
