I've been looking for someone else who loves Black Tide as much as i do. Seriously me fav. band ever! Go the sound of the 80's Heavy Metal!

Not me, I'm afraid - but congrats on the Kerrang award

Hope you find your musical soulmate!

I've heard of them but I'm not a fan. I'm impressed at their skill but I'm not into that style of metal. That channel a lot of 80's metal and I'm more into bands that are looking forward, not back.

never heard of them

recomend a song or two?

Black Tide - Sylien - 13-09-2008

A song or two:

Black Abyss

Shockwave

And i don't think they are looking back, just liking the 80´s metal more then the new metal.

Why don't you listen to bands from the 80's then instead of listening to some ridiculous pop-punk bands that just copy them?

I don't get it.

I'll admit I don't listen to them that much. But how is sounding like 80's bands not being retro? It's one thing to sound like your influences but build on it and innovate. I don't think they do this. I think they get most of their success because of the novelty - they are all very young and skilled musicians. But maybe that's all they can do - be good at copying their favorite bands. But they can't do something original because they don't have enough experience. If they don't come up with their own unique sound their popularity will fade once the novelty wears off.

A great band with "black" in the name is Black Mountain. They do have a definite 70's psych/hard rock element in their sound. But at the same time they don't sound like copy-cats. I suggest checking them out if you aren't familiar.

To Iota: i am listen to metal from the 80´s. Some of my other fav. bands is: Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Metallica.

To JonG : The only reason they played a cover of "Hit The Lights" was because Interstudio sad that they should. All the other numbers they write themself. Yes they sound like there influence, no i don't think it that much. I think they got there own sound. And maybe you got something right about the novelty. A lot of people like them because of the 15 year old frontman. And i will try listen to them.

I am still puzzled as to why you prefer a knockoff to the original. And this band is not even close to the quality the bands you've mentioned possess (however, I'm not saying that those bands possess much of it)

Umm...

This is just my opinion. Like it or not. This is real metal in my eyes. I've never got the chance to hear metal before i turned 12. So i think i maybe, have been liking metal in about 1 year. I don't know what metal is yet. I actually just tried to find someone who also liked the band.
