Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
    It's the strangest elation
    I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
    It makes a man frown.

When I first got interested in setting up an album review, I felt that the time had come to challenge my comfortable well established musical tastes and expose myself to new and provoking material.
I think this album has helped me on my journey in that direction:
I have to be honest this is not really my taste but, I did give it a full audition until the end. There were moments when I was attracted to a particular groove or hook but, I did not feel that I could relate to the band on the level that they were attempting to interest with me on.
The first three tracks left me cold: “White Music” showed some promise, “The One” was not quite the one for me but, it was half way there. “Someplace Else Unknown”..................mmmmmmm not sure . “Feel it” was fun and “Felt Tipped Pictures Of UFOs” thought provoking and a bit disturbing !
Not every day listening for me but an interesting musical journey!
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

Had scheduled my review for today, but we unexpectedly have the grandkids. Hopefully tomorrow.

Certainly a bad choice by me to do a review of, as it gets a thumbs down (1.4 on my 1 to 3 scale). My suggestion was driven by my hearing Let's Go ******* Mental when I was posting this selection as one of the weekly new releases. Found it very interesting. Wasn't crazy about it, but it did grab me and still does. This album is largely instumental/sound affects. Even though most tracks do have some vocals, they are somewhat background and most distorted or echo chamber sounding, leaving to a lot of indecipherable stuff. Some of the music is quite hypnotic, and not bad. Sadly the best thing for me was that last track of Felt Tipped Pictures of UFO's, which is not even a song per se, but a haunting melody fronted by clips of John Lennon trying to explain is Beatles are bigger than Jesus comment followed by some chick rambling on about that and other odd things. Anyone know who that is? Come on, gryphon has to know. Anyway that was pretty entertaining. Worst track was the instrumental White Music. Bottom line, no I would not buy this, nor does it entice me to hear any of the other 11 albums in the BJM catalogue. Maybe I better lay off the recomendations for awhile after this bomb. Sorry fellow members.

They do make some unique sounds... but not much to review from my side..

I had never heard anything from this band before.... what about you MH? are you familiar with them prior to this album.

But I must say, I like the album name.
