It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
    It's the strangest elation
    I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
    It makes a man frown.

Default Hey !!! Try This....It`s Good

Angels and Airwaves……Love………………Yeah , I loved this right from chord one until the last vibration faded. This band have a great feel for music and can translate it into easily accessible melodies rhythms and lyrics...............I feel that they have done their listening homework well ...from U2 to Tangerine Dream( even Mike Oldfield ? OMD and Ultravox ) and many points in between! Each track is full of energy and captures you quickly in a sustaining manner.........hooks and melodies are well crafted and interpreted well within their music vision. Time is spent developing each track, so that the band`s writing talents are a vehicle for their expression and not just a way of making money or fame. The lyrics were interesting and intelligent and easy to hear.........hey !!! we even have the makings of a good vocalist here with character in his technique!!!!!!!!
It was hard to single out tracks because I enjoyed each one in many different ways but, I felt that “El Duck Mundum Per Luce” was a great opener .”Epic Holiday” stood out, as did “Letters to God Part II”
When this was over, I felt great , it had lifted me up out of a heavy bout of flu and made me feel good and even well ..................Excellent album ...goes on my must have list right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

I was sort of disappointed here. But I think it's only because I had set my expectations too high based on how much I ended up liking We Don't Need To Whisper. But as I recall, that one took some spinning before it grew on me. I do have it, but my rotation being as it is, it gets played rarely now. I never heard the second album, I-Empire. Anyway I love Tom Delonge's voice which I kept waiting for on the opener of El Ducit Mundum Per Luce. Come on now, seriously folks, why start an album with an instrumental that nobody knows what it even means. It was ok, but I want meat for an appetizer. It got better with Flight Of Apollo and maintained that plateau pretty much throughout. There weren't many peaks or valleys and I think that's the downfall for me. Just that status quo sound of sameness. I think Epic Holiday and Hallucinations were my best with that lead off, Clever Love and Some Origins of Fire being the low points. This is not a bad album for me, just one I would not buy unless at a reduced price.

btw, gryphon, I did not read your review until I had posted mine as I do not want to be influenced, and I probably would have been.

Guess we disagree on this one, but that's what makes it fun.

Oh! that`s no problem....the aim is to produce a bit of debate and discussion and we can't all be the same there would be no fun in life then....

For a free album, this rocks.. Excellent music by the guys.

I have said this before & will say it again, the moment Tom starts singing I remember Blink 182.
Blink 182 was my favourite band during my time in High School.. It's hard for me to place Tom's voice on the kind of music Angels & Airwaves make.

This album is nice, but I prefer the previous albums to these.

I am more excited about the movie... & I hope to review this album better when I watch it.
