Wutang Clan - Enter the 36 Chambers is the only rap album I have ever heard. Apparently this album is supposed to be the cream of the crop as far as rap albums go, I have just started to get into this album and I am starting to like it :).

That is a very good place to start. If you enjoy it I suggest next trying some of the Wu's early solo albums - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx by Raekwon, Liquid Swords by the Genius/GZA and Ironman by Ghostface Killah.

    Default Some top albums

You have to go pre-1995 for phat hip-hop

Ice Cube - Amerikkas Most Wanted, Death Certificate, Predator, Lethal Injection

Ice T - Power, Home Invasion

Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back, Welcome To The Terrordome

Wu Tang Clan - Enter The 36 Chambers

    Cypress Hill - Black Sunday

    Nas - Illmatic

EPMD, Jeru The Damaja, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Dr Dre

Easily a 100 brilliant hip-hop albums out there.

PS I'm loving the new Gorillaz single
