The Dirt Daubers "wake up,sinners".
Yee Har!!! feels like im back in moonshine, redneck Kentucky again....must be something in the waters down there(or in plant pots?!) as i like this album....am i turning into a Redneck because during the listening of this i wanted to go out and shoot anything that moves(private in-joke happening here!)
this is the debut album from this bluegrass, folk, blues, jazz, skiffle trio from Music Head's neck of the woods in Kentucky, or more precisely, Paducah in the west of Ky....MH used to live in Paducah not so long ago.
i probably wouldnt have bothered with this one except i noticed "ky" and a map of Kentucky in the bottom right hand corner of the album cover....
regardless of that this is a good little album of upbeat Bluegrass songs, and probably unlike anything you are likely to hear for a while, and certainly not on radio anyway.
a good, but not a great album of traditional sounding songs complete with mandolins, washboards, kazoo's, harmonicas, stand up bass, banjo's,piano and more!!...its good to see a young band sticking to their heritage and culture and not succumbing to loops, auto tune and fancy technological crap that goes into making records nowadays!
