This 1991 album suggested itself for inclusion here when I recently watched a Classic Albums doc about its' making.
Bobby Gillespie had been a member of The Jesus & Mary Chain before quitting to form Primal Scream.
They released two earlier lacklustre albums before this one arrived.
The spirit of the Stones is a large part of this album, as with its' predecessors, but the fusion of this with Dance music made a huge impact. Indie fans & Dance fans had an album in common, and the influence of this album is still at large.
Andy Weatherall was the Dance genius brought in by the band to help create the album, and the Classic Albums doc would suggest that the creativity was unbridled. No egos at work here !!
A genre-defining, innovative, cracker.
Movin' on up from a neat audience video recorded last year:
Come Together from back in the day.
