    Ian Siegal has taken the Band of the Year award in the innaugural BRITISH BLUES AWARDS, presented Sept 11th at the Newark Blues Festival.

    Ian's bass player, Andy graham, was voted Bass Player of the Year.

    Matt Schofield and his band gained three awards :
    Guitarist of the year for Matt Schofield, Album of the year for 'Heads, Tails and Aces' and Jonny Henderson took Keyboard player of the year.

    Oli Brown was voted Male Vocalist of the Year and Young Artist of the Year while his drummer Simon Dring was voted Drummer of the year.

    Joanne Shaw Taylor was voted Female Vocalist of the Year

    British Instrumental player of the year was Lap-Steel player Son Henry

    Harmonica player of the year was the legendary Paul Jones

    Overseas Artist was Joe Bonamassa

    The awards were voted for by the public

    The British Blues Awards were featured on the Paul Jones Show on BBC Radio 2 on 13/09/2010.

    Indeed, he was & later The Blues Band (with Dave Kelly & co) whom I'm going to see at The Ferry in Glasgow next year! He deserves the award, his harmonica playing is outstanding.
