SUPERGRASS "road to Rouen" cd, 2005

fifth album out of six for this Britpop group...
hated their fourth and six albums, love this one...
no more experimentation on this, just back to their roots...
not as good as their debut though, which is their best album...
album peaked at #9 in the UK and three singles were released off it...
my favourite track was not one of the singles:

NEIL YOUNG "peace trail" cd, 2016:

    Neil's 37th solo studio set...
lots of socio-political messages through this one,
also a couple dealing with his recent divorce from long
    term wife Peggi...
slightly folky, but mostly, reminds me musically of the
    Greendale album...
only one track I don't like, the rest are pretty good,
but nothing great coming out of the man at this stage of his career,
and certainly better than most of his output over the last decade and a half...

from the album, the title track:

Default Airborne Toxic Event - Airborne Toxic Event - 2008

    from the cd room

    debut album
    and a great one
4 albums since and I never followed up
this one only reached #108 here
and their last one in 2015 never even charted
    stupid americans

    fabulous track here
    reminds me of Arcade Fire

DAVID BOWIE "hunky dory" cd, 1971

    a revisit this time round...
an eclectic range on this one from the pop of "changes",
the vaudevillian sound in "kooks", the loose Dylan impersonation
in "song for Bob Dylan", the almost abstract "Andy Warhol" track
through to Bowie's signature sound in "life on mars"...
along with "lodger" and "scary monsters", this is my go-to Bowie album...
as good as this album is, its difficult not to pick Life On Mars as best track:

DROPKICK MURPHYS "11 short stories of pain and glory" cd, 2017:

    Band's eleventh studio set...
recorded in Nashville as opposed to Boston where they reside....
contains their usual punkish sounds mixed with Irish Folk...
songs are about the down-trodden, the oppressed and rebellion...
three singles off this one including their cover of "you'll never walk alone"
which coincidently happens to be the only track I dislike on the album...
not as good as my favourite album of theirs in "going out in style" but still pretty good,
from the album, my favourite track:

    ^^
Have just been listening to the album. It sounds great to me and agree with you that their 'You'll Never Walk Alone' could have been better. It's also worth listening to songs like 'Sandlot' and 'Paying My Way' . Another great album from Dropkick Murphys!

Frands, I have five or six of their albums, all consistently good IMO.
