Newbie here from japan
I just joined today. I hope this will become very useful areas of musical discussion.
As for me I am in my late 50s, father of two, daughter and son. I used to play lead guitar in the 60s in various amateur band. For many years I have put aside my guitar but recently started practicing again in hopes of playing old 60s songs from The Ventures and Shadows with some of my old original band buddies from way back when.
My musical interests nowadays are jazz fusion and songs from the 60s. Some of my recent favorites musicians are Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Eric Gale. Steve Gadd, Richard Tee, Steve Khan and others.
Some of the groups I like to listen are Stuff, Ventures, Shadows, Brecker Brothers,
Greetings and welcome!
Does the Soft Machine count as a fusion band from the 60's? I'm a big fan of them and Robert Wyatt's solo work.
I don't know that group but as you may know, the term "fusion" did not exist. During the 60's when I was growing up as teenager, instrumental, surf music and later British invasion type of songs were popular.
