Pete Zorn died yesterday of advanced lung and brain cancer Ė he was 65. RIP.

Stalwart session musician and much admired (and well-liked) multi-instrumentalist, he played the bass, mandolin, sax, flute, tin whistle, and sang too. Long-time member of Richard Thompsonís backing band, he recorded and toured with plenty others, including Gerry Rafferty, Steeleye Span and Chris Rainbow. One of the many, many musos who arenít much in the limelight, and whose contribution to the success of those who are is inestimable.
