Don't know who Mr. Cornyn was? You're not alone--not much in the public view but he was the creative force behind the rise of Warner Bros. Music. Promotion, publicity, signing and raising the profiles of artists (including the Grateful Dead, Black Sabbath, Van Morrison and a bunch of others), eventually rising to Senior VP of all Warner's labels--quite a career. If you have heard of him, it's through his album liner notes, especially Frank Sinatra's (he won 2 Grammies for them). Con man, hustler, etc.? Of course--that's the nature of the biz but always from an off-beat perspective.
