To introduce myself, I am a student in Sydney, Australia who loves his music.
I have collecting records (vinyls) for a couple of years now and I am still quite young but ahve managed to make some great finds recently including an original Dire Straits - Love Over Gold and Peter Gabriel - So.
My music pallet is quite large, however, I do has disputes over some music; especially those that have been recently produced such as Metal (which has been around for a while), Electronica, Rap, House, Hip-Hip and the kind. This is mainly due to my opinion that music is something that is to be enjoyed and the best way to enjoy it is to go and watch musicians with their bare instruments and equipment and present the prowess with music. Also, I am currently reading a book "Faking It" which deals with the concept of authenticity in popular music and is based around Kurt Cobain's attempt to show the world what an authentic musician is - through his almost bare performance in New York - the MTV Unplugged Performance prior to his death.
Currently, I have been trying to get into some of the newer alternative rock and indie music and some has caught my mind. The artists that I am enjoying at the moment include The Cure (whom are one of my favourite and I don't see a mood or time not to listen to them and Smith's brilliant, emotional lyrics), Nada Surf and Travis.
