"...When she was good, she was very very good/ When she was bad she was horrid." An accurate summation of the recording career of Cassandra Wilson. If she's invested in a project she's all-in to the extent of co-writing and it's marvelous; when she isn't, it's a robotic factory worker punching the time-clock, wishing the day would end soon. A look at her AMG discog will confirm--little that's mediocre; it's either 3-1/2 star or better or it's a clinker, better left in the can.: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/cassa...60/discography << Fortunately, her discs this century have been unalloyed good and her newest, covering but not aping, Billie Holiday has gotten raves from all quarters. Personal Note 1: I have Loverly and am getting '88's Blue Skies today. http://www.allmusic.com/album/blue-skies-mw0000652532 and http://www.allmusic.com/album/loverly-mw0000788228
Personal Note 2: I tend to run stuff together in my Posts including this one. If there are any you'd like to see restructured, drop me a note--I'll do what I can (but not all of them--let's be reasonable).
