I wrote a song called Billy Mallon, (on ITunes, Amazon, and Google Music). How it happened, kind of a long story. Shot video for Golden Earring. The album is called 'Millbrook USA', which they put out in 2003. Was in studio with them for 9 days. Great experience, where they were my favorite band growing up. (Don't ask how).
Jump ahead to 2004. Millbrook USA DVD was released in Holland and Belgium. I flew there to catch a couple of shows. While waiting for a show to start, I noticed a long line of people who ended up wanting to meet me because of the video. Turns out Billy Mallon and his wife Linda were in that line. Met them, but hardly remember it. Couple nights later, I was walking the streets of Amsterdam by myself and they spotted me. We hung out… had several beers… and an overseas friendship was born.
A few years later, Billy heard a song I did and loved it. Linda came down with cancer and I was helping him through it with e-mails. He wanted to be cheered up and asked me to write another song. I thought about it, and Billy Mallon was born.
You can check it out at ITunes and hear a sample. Or, pay the 99 cents to own it.
I'm hoping some of you do so I can hear what you think of it.
Very excited to be a new member at this site…. Hope to get some new friendships.
So far Crazy Horse is the first person I've met… Crazy Horse might be excited to hear I shook Neil Youngs hand! (And Alice Cooper for that matter…)
