Red Holloway 6-decade career, playing with everybody important (long time with Etta James, 10-year stint with Brother Jack McDuff, great session man). A "go-to" guy if you wanted someone to come in, blow the hell out of a soul/jazz chart, then take the money and leave. He brought class and warmth to everything he did. His Wiki: A review of his last CD (at age 80 !):

Some tunes--May not be career-spanning : << From his first solo album (he was 36) << W/Big John Patton on the B-3/Eric Gale on guitar << an all-star group, co-lead by that flugelhorn master, Clark Terry << Braggadocio blues ...and it works so well ! << from a great album << "Mr. Holloway plays well with others--A+ social skills". << greasing and politely honkin' it up << Letting it all hang out in a wonderful setting.
