Michael Dease Remember that name. Good 'bone players are few and far between, and Mr. Dease was worth the wait..almost. Player, professor, entrepreneur (record company owner). Tone and realized imagination, bachelor and masters from Julliard, mighty fine on alto and tenor sax, associate producer/assistant engineer for the Jazz Legacy label, writes originals/arrangements/orchestrations--what more do you want? 4 discs out now (all of them knocked-out nifties) and the second has an all-star line-up--indicates Mr. Dease has serious juice, gained by being a sideman for every important bigger band and contributing mightily. Damn skippy I'm high on this guy. From AMG: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/micha...5462/biography "The proof of the pudding is in the eating"--dine hearty, mates:
