DAVID BOWIE "the next day"
admittedly, i am not a huge Bowie fan but i do own several albums plus
a couple of best of sets...love the man's singles, bit 'iffy' as an album
artist IMO. i am always intrigued to hear new Bowie material because he is a
thinker, is experimental and sometimes a 'bit out there', but this time around
after a decade break i just find it to be rehashing the past, can definately hear
bits of 'life on mars' here and his 1970s glam rock material, seventeen tracks
on this one...way too long IMO, and only liking six of the tracks with nothing
standing out as anything like a real classic Bowie song, and certainly not
anything that i think would grow on me enough to ever get this one.
im sure diehard Bowie fans would relish the thought of a new album and will
without a doubt purchase it(as i would and do my favourite artists), but unfortunately
for me, the guy should have stayed retired(or reclusive) and left us to our
old best of albums of decades hidden in the midsts of time and space!
