NOW NOW "threads"
never heard of these guys, cannot find any info on the net, except for allmusic who lists this as their second album.
boring, mundane, no melody, rythem, vocals suck big time by the female vocalist, they are just too wishy washy for me.
listened to this one online, liked only one song, and maybe that was out of sympathy for a number of dislikes prior to it playing.
soft indi rock that should be hardened up in a mix of concrete IMO,
not very often i come across an album this bad..where is AQUA when i need them!!!
now the product description from amazon:
Epic pop throw downs full of shoegazery guitars, anthemic melodies, and just the slightest, teeniest hint of emo melancholia. --Interview Magazine
Trans- Records, the new label launched by Death Cab for Cutie guitarist/producer Chris Walla, proudly debuts with the release of the sophomore full-length album Threads from Minneapolis based Now, Now. Produced by Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara, An Horse, New Pornographers), Threads is a sprawling sonic endeavor of vulnerable vocals giving way to oceans of sound retaining definition via deftly layered guitar parts augmented by lingering synths alternating between background and center stage. A long-time fan, Walla came to each of Now, Now s shows at SXSW 2011, helping them lug gear and even talking a police officer out of giving them a parking ticket. With mutual admiration all around, it was natural for Now, Now to sign to Walla's label, paving the way for the release of Threads. "In working with Chris and his label," explains guitarist Jessica Abbott, "we've been given a lot of freedom to make sure we're happy with the music."
