I voted for present, because i grew up on 80's,then discovered the 70's,lived through the 90's,and now i'm into new music and i gotta say this music makes me want to play music. Never before has music moved me so much. Before it was just there to enjoy, but today's music gets inside me and makes me want to BE it. So,present music gets my vote.

contemporary/modern rock sucks compared to rock music that came out during the 70s (for classic rock) and the 80s (for metal and punk). there's a lot of shit floating around the music scene today... especially emo bands, they suck.

Well,if you look at the poll, you couldn't be more wrong LOL And the bands that everyone considers "emo" now aren't really true emo, that really died in the late 90's.

I knew it, bumpity bump. LOL

Pretty interesting topic here. :) I voted for the 90's. Lots of great music in the present too but I think mostly are just made for money. Lots of revivals as well. I just love originals. :)

bumpity bump? how old are you folks?

anyone in the music industry knows 90s musicians were mostly
    unskilled, nontalented posers.

    all righty then.
