Why is this in my music collection?
Posted by: CMB1888 - 13-11-2008, 20:07 - Forum: Off Topic Chat - Replies (4)

Everyone looks at their music collection and wondered why on earth they have some of it, right?

I have run out of space on my ipod and am working through my itunes list to delete stuff.

I'm amazed at what I have (somehow) managed to update here - I have 3 (three!) Ja Rule CDs - what? and a Jennifer Lopez album

I can feel my self esteem slipping away as I delete.

(Also Coil is categorised as 'Pop')

What will you listen to this Christmas?
Posted by: saramitch85 - 13-11-2008, 03:02 - Forum: Off Topic Chat - Replies (15)

So the other day I was early shopping for myself and others. And i was in this clothing store, and they were playing the best Christmas music. All the classics and everything. I was shocked because christmas is a while away, but I guess now-a-days people start early. But i asked on of the works what CD was it, and they said it was Mannheim Steamroller “Christmasville” and I went home to check it out. So i bought it on itunes? Has anyone heard christmas music yet in the mall. Ladies I know we all shop. So i thought it would be cute to have some christmas music for my guest.

I'm not too good on introductions, so I'll just cut to the chase. I enjoy Classical music the most, but I also like to listen to things such as electronic, rap, or rock now and then. I hope to get to know you all soon.

Kowloon Walled City - Turk Street Ep

I thought I'd provide you with some of the finest sludge music that I've come across lately.

If you're looking for subtlety, you're seriously wrong here. The sound itself is fairly raw, with a lot of overdrive and hardcore-ish screaming, but the atmosphere is pretty darn intensive.

So, the band's quite awesome and the EP is free for download (direct). I think you should give it a shot.

Hello Folks,

I'd like to tell you about a new band that I discovered recently.
They are called Half Past Four and just released their new album 'Rabbit in the Vestibule'.
Their music is very diverse and includes a compilation of styles such as Jazz, Fusion, Folk, Experimental and even, at times, Symphonic Metal.
Especial attention is to the sound of the guitar which, in my opinion, is very unique, possibly due to the guitarist apparently building his own pedals.

When I heard them live at their CD release party 2 weeks ago they really blew my mind. I didn't know that such easily complex music exists here in Canada.

check them out at www.myspace.com/halfpast4.
