Default Have You Played Live ??

I've never played any form of music live, and I'm unlikely to at any stage in the future.

So, musician types, which of you have played for people before, and what's it like for you ??

Any interesting anecdotes from your live experiences ?

I've played live twice with two different bands as a vocallist. The first time we practiced ONCE together as a band before our gig (the high school battle of the bands of... 06-07, I believe). We actually only did badly because my guitarist's amp failed. Then in April I played at battle of the bands again, and we had practiced since February and nailed it. All in all, I was surprised at how ... Not totally terrifying it was. It was very scary before hand, but as soon as I got on stage and the curtain opened, I was like "YEAH YEAH ROCK N ROLL" X__X Haha. Fun times. But our bassist's amp failed this year AND our guitarist's. Plus the PA system was mixed so low that I could barely be heard. But it was still a great experience.

I gig 3-5 times a week, including running a local buskers/open mic night. Gigging is my life, I don't know what I'd do with my time if I did do it lol! Night in, whats that? lol.

Too many experiences and anecdotes to think of just one!

I've only played live once for a concert one of my parent's friends was putting on. I played with a friend of mine. We practiced once before the show, but it all fell together nicely. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I perform on stage as often as I can with my band, and on my own doing acoustic sessions, but around here gigs are taken up really quickly so me and my band perform on the streets.

Gosh, I've played quite a few times in a local orchestra when I was younger. I'd have to say around 20-25 times, I played as a cellist. Not much that I remember though, I've quit playing instruments because I'm too lazy to practice.
