I've been playing guitar since eighth grade. It's probably my third favorite instrument I play, behind drums and tenor sax. I've been playing those two longer, so maybe in a few years I'll prefer guitar.

I'm nearly 50 and have been playing guitar since my teens.
I also play bass and piano. However, I have done more sound engineering
for live venues and festivals than I have played live...

Been playing for 10 years or so now, classically trained originally, but can play pretty much any genre (except shred, I have no particular interest in the genre so never thought to learn it) I practice a few hours a day on my acoustic mostly
I'm a guitarist. Mostly electric and lead stuff, but I've played rythym my share of times too.
I'm playing in a band at the moment (well, it's just me, actually) called The Oxygenators. Yes, I know it's a plural. I'm layering some guitar riffs and rythym in with some lead breaks, and trying to get it uploaded to the 'net. I'll link when I finish.
I've been an axeman for about two years now, and I love it!

I play guitar. 4 years and counting...
It's fun, I would recommend it to anyone. DO NOT fall for the "acoustics are for grandpa's" ruse. The acoustic guitar is a beautiful instrument, surely, but it's not outdated or uncool. If you are starting to play, I would say to start on an acoustic - playing the electric becomes much easier.
Alas, I ramble...![]()
Have moved this thread into the dedicated guitar forum as a little relevant.
