Apart from the local Rogers and Hammerstein productions (someone I know is involved in am-dram), I did go to see Les Miserables in London - rarely been more bored.

Actually now that I think of it I've also seen professional productions of West Side Story, Evita and Footloose (!) and I'm going to see The Sound of Music next month - it's got that woman off the show in it, I believe.

I'm not that fond of musicals though, I'd rather go and see a ballet, tbh

I've seen Fiddler on the Roof (when it toured a couple of years ago with Topol! ), and a few weeks ago I saw Merchants of Bollywood. Both awesome!

I watch most of my musicals on dvd usually though...

i saw elisabeth in the early nineteens in vienna, that was sooo awesome ... i was about 12 or 13 and it was my first musical and i still love it - it is one of the best ... i also love the german version of 'dance of the vampires' (tanz der vampire), my favorite musical ... really great! :)

Saw Mamma Mia in London a couple of years ago (because I like their music) and absolutely loved it. Saw We Will Rock You later that same year - again, in London, and, again, because I like their music - and absolutley loathed it.

Saw a school production of Joseph the other week.

They really did their best and good on them. Though the pupils weren't actors or singers, they only had a pianist and guitarist and the production was necessarily low key, the quality of the songs and story still mesmerised me.

If you get the chance to see Joseph, do yourself a favour and go.

    It's brilliant.

I rather enjoyed Blood Brothers on Broadway (many years ago). Starred David and Shaun Cassidy and Petula Clark. David Cassidy was my first childhood crush (in the 70s), so it was really nice seeing him live on stage.

Also saw Grease on Broadway which I enjoyed.
