Default Best of 2008

I guess it is time. What are your favorite albums, singles, podcasts and/or mixes of 2008? Any particular DJs you saw live or events that stand out?

Here are some favorite albums of mine. I have several more, but I'm limiting myself to ten right now:

Anders Ilar - Sworn
Claro Intelecto - Metanarrative
Andy Stott - Unknown Exception
Kangding Ray - Automne Fold
Arve Henriksen - Cartography
Ricardo Villalobos - Vasco
Deadbeat - Roots and Wires
Lindstrøm - Where You Go I Go Too
Move D & Benjamin Brunn - Songs from the Beehive

Some particularly good comps/boxed sets:

Gas - Nah und Fern
Shackleton & Appleblim - Soundboy's Gravestone Gets Desecrated by Vandals
Sascha Funke - Watergate 02

One particular podcast really stood out:

Pole's Resident Advisor [RA.091] which RA released back in February. It did a fantastic job of mixing classic dub with contemporary dubstep.

Thank you for posting but this is the Electronic forum. I'm asking for strictly favorites from this genre.

Intrigueing lists, Jon.

Makes me realise how little I know about your favourite genre...

I feel this needs to be addressed.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to recommend five from those lists which you think I have some chance of liking, and I'll promise to buy all five (if available on CD) before the end of the year, purely on your recommendation.

Sir, you have just been gently slapped on your left cheek with a pair of pale blue kid gloves...

Excellent, all are available from Amazon (my preferred interweb retail experience), and all score OK on AllMusic (my preferred interweb musical reference experience).

You're on !!

First order will be placed at the weekend.

Cheers Jon.

Right, my first choice is the Ezekiel Honig disc, because it's the lowest rated on AllMusic (Always save the best till last says I !!). It's on order, and will report back soon.
