Not at all recent, but one of her best is the '84 version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, with The Vienna Philharmonic / Von Karajan.

If you haven't heard this, it's absolutely beautiful & knocks spots off the Kennedy version, which is much more popular.

For me the Armenian Sergey Khachatyan has given the most moving performances I have seen recently.
Also Janine Jansen at Birmingham Symphony Hall two weeks ago gave a very good rendition of the Sibelius Violin Concerto.

Personally, I think his playing is superb and his showmanship can only be good for the instrument and the music form in my opinion.

Don't like the guy. I know he's seriously talented, but his scrapey sound has always put me off. Don't like him for lots of other reasons, but his scrapey sound is the main one...

Has he gone back to performing Classical music again? I know he went off the bleeding track for a while.
    With Regards...
